Kind of DDOS attack by a number of spammers. Now its showing Database error for the last 20hrs.

This kind of database errors was also seen couple of month ago. that was on October,2008 and many before October,2008.

But this time i got many info from other forums that Digital Point Forums seems to be under severe attack by a person with username, “cuhamelsamast“. As such, it has resulted in poor responsiveness of the server and often dropping connections, rendering the site with Page Load Error. Apparently, this is similar to a Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack.its was under DDOS attack by many spammers.

As seen from the screen-shot, one specific user has managed to take out the servers’ resources by targetting a particular Forum column - Introductions. It has remarkably slowed down the server’s response to other users, thereby taking up the bandwidth.

This is probably one of the rare occasions that Digital Points is facing such attacks, although in many previous occasions, Digital Point Forums has been the focal point and jealousy of several other hackers.

People have donated a large amount of money for the servers but these problems still persist. Come On Shawn please look into the matter and upgrade the server. We The Users Of Your Forum Request You.

You can see the discussion about DP recent downtime on SitePoint forum here.

Whats do you think about this downtime, share with us.

It’s been a while now since the folks at PHP supported PHP 4 but you have to be careful when choosing a new web host. There still seem to be lots of web hosting companies that are stuck behind the times and only offer PHP 4. It’s important when signing up for web hosting that you check to see the current software versions your hosting comes with.

There are some great features nowadays like; PHP Nuke, Mambo and Joomla, PHP 5, Perl 5, Python, Ruby/Ruby On Rails and Javascript/DHTML just to name a few. An easy way to check to see which version the PHP web hosting company supports is to ask for their ” phpinfo ” file. This file contains all the current software information from your hosting provider.

If you are currently with a web host that only offers PHP 4 ask them about PHP 5. There are numerous host that will only upgrade after a client has mentioned it to them or in some cases the host forgot to make the upgrade all together. This goes for any other software you are looking for, make a quick call and see if it’s available on your host.

How To Turn A Gmail Account Into A MP3 Player

Yes you can quickly and easily turn a Gmail account into a great MP3 player that you can use any time you want to to play your music on your computer and save all that space on your computer. So I bet your wondering how do I turn a Gmail Account into a MP3 Player. Well its quick easy and if you follow the very easy to understand instructions here you can do it quickly and easily.

1. I would suggest creating a new or a few new Gmail accounts to turn into MP3 players. Just create the account or accounts and be sure you keep track of the user names and passwords of your new account or accounts.

2. When you download a new song you like or a friend sends you a song you like go into the account you are using as a MP3 Player and upload the file and send it to yourself. See photo example of this below. And there you have your free MP3 player with lots of great storage space. And by using this method you are saving all that space on your computers harddrive.

You will see the below in your email once you send the music file to yourself.

You will see the above in your email once you send the music file to yourself.

When you click play the below player will pop up and play your file.

When you click play the below player will pop up and play your file.

Yes Its That Easy To Create A MP3 Player

Yes it is that easy to create a free MP3 Player from a Gmail account. You can use the subject field to put the title of the song and the artist so you can later use the search feature and find the song you want to play quickly.

You can even share the created MP3 player accounts among your family and friends and they can download your music and upload music they want to share with you. I myself have created several MP3 Player accounts this way and some of them are over 6 months old and still work perfectly.

Let me know what you think about the ideal in the comment section below and if you really like it vote thumbs up and click on the little share it green button and Digg this page if you will please. I will be back with some other quick and easy ideals for you to use.

It’s an article I wrote a while ago but figured I would share this with other people for their convienence. I have posted this before in other areas but thought I would share it with the folks in this category.

First thing I would like to discuss is that price is not everything! Doesn’t matter if your paying .99c for hosting and your site is completely unreliable because in the end, you’ll lose money over these problems. Let’s go through the considerations that you need to ponder in order to ensure that you get what you need. You want to choose the web host that is going to provide your needs as they stand now as well as where they lead to in the future. Here we go:

1. Understand the differing types of hosts: shared, collocated, unmanaged dedicated, and managed dedicated. Is your site brand new with little traffic? In the event your site is a newer domain, you won’t need the raw power of a dedicated server unless your site is resource intensive which can include: streaming, video’s, proxies and even linking to videos as well can cause a high load on Apache and the CPU(s).

2. Go for stability, not just size. Just because the host if offering you unmetered and unlimited space, doesn’t mean you should soley base your decision on that. What good is that account to you when your site is down or the server is overloaded? Research how long the hosting business has been in operation. See if they have recently changed ownership, and if they show positive cash flow.

3. The possession of fully redundant data centers. If you are considering doing business with a smaller hosting vendor, ensure that they have adequate power and connectivity capabilities. Inquire as to the number of lines the facility has. Do they possess an on-site generator? Does the generator receive regular checks and maintenance? What is the average utilization of the connections available?

4. How skilled is their staff? When you need customer service of a technical nature, you need it immediately, right? Find out the availability of their systems administrators. Send them a support ticket and see how fast they respond.

5. Other customer’s reviews of the hosting services. Same as any business, the hosting vendor should be able to provide good references.

6. Is the potential host flexible? In the future, your needs may change. Can you upgrade services should the need arise?

7. This step of course, is optional. Make sure that the host does not have blacklisted IPs. The host that you want to do business with would not be one that promotes illegal sites, spammers, or other security issues. You are considering associating your business with this host. You could always ask them what web server they plan to put you on.

8. Begin with and maintain a clear and written understanding of all services and all charges for them. If questions still remain or some terms are unclear it is strongly advised that you ask for clarification before signing up for anything.

If you do your research before beginning business, you will find a better avenue to the successful hosting, and thereby promotion, of your online business. Take your time in making this important decision.

Hope this helps,

I have not been feeling well for the past 2 days and I immediately knew why. I was experiencing “Discomgoogolation“. Is there such a word? Well the internet says, it is the extreme stress and anxiety for not being able to access online.

Though not yet officially recognized, it is a clinical disorder and researchers say that it can affect a person emotionally as well as physically. Affected individuals have increased blood pressure and brain activity.

Just to give you an idea, the stress of being offline is comparable to the feeling you get when you’re about to take an important exam, when you’re late to an important meeting, or when fired from your job. Now, that’s some heavy stressing.

You see, my internet connection was interrupted last Wednesday morning. At first I thought it was only temporary, but by midday without the internet back, I got alarmed. I got more troubled when the support tech that I called informed me that I was their only subscriber in the area who is experiencing problems. I still reserved hope that by the time I get home from my work shift at 10:00 pm, I’ll have my connection back. That hope became hopeless when I arrived to learn that 12 hours has passed and I still have no internet. Why? I have neighbors who are using the same provider but they were online. By this time, I’ve had 3 phone calls already to my ISP requesting for support. Rather than keep on thinking about my frustration, I went to sleep thinking that I’ll be up by the time I wake up.

Fast forward 6 hours later, at 4:00 am Thursday, I woke up to a still internet-less PC. Thus my call # 4 to my provider. Never mind I thought, I have an early work shift schedule today and surely by the time I’m back home at 1:00 pm, my connection will be back. Boy, how wrong was I. My “knight in shining armor” the on site technical support arrived at 5:00 pm, did troubleshooting for an hour before telling me the grim news that it would have to be settled the next day.

Day 3, by this time I was already nearing 48 hours without internet. My “saviour”, field engineer Marc arrived at around 10:00 am and after an hour of line testing using my PC and his laptop, we decided to give replacing my router/modem a try. But then, he didn’t bring any with him so it means that he has to leave and just instruct their contractor to visit me after lunch time. Aargh! Suddenly, our TV is my favorite appliance again.

By 12:00 noon, I was surprised that tech Marc came back bringing himself the much needed replacement router/modem and just as we suspected, I was finally back online! Thanks to my “doctors”, officer Gener who was in constant communication with me to make sure that my concern was being attended, tech Milo for the first visit and of course tech Marc for the extra effort of going back to my place right away.

So, that was how I got sick for close to 50 hours. How about you? Have you been “discomgoogolated” before?

I personally stopped using microwave 2 years ago since I read about the dangers of using it. Eating microwaved food on a regular basis weakens your immune system and cause depression and anxiety. Parents who microwave baby formula are poisoning there children unknowingly because when you microwave anything, it becomes energetically toxic to the body. Oh well, people perish because of lack of knowledge. So when I read all about these articles, I tossed out our microwave and just reheat our foods on the stove just like we do in the Philippines. Only few people there own a microwave unlike here in the US wherein 98% of the people use microwave. Read further below.

Ten Reasons to Throw out your Microwave Oven

From the conclusions of the Swiss, Russian and German scientific clinical studies, we can no longer ignore the microwave oven sitting in our kitchens. Based on this research, we will conclude this article with the following:

1. Continually eating food processed from a microwave oven causes long term - permanent - brain damage by “shorting out” electrical impulses in the brain [de-polarizing or de-magnetizing the brain tissue].

2. The human body cannot metabolize [break down] the unknown by-products created in microwaved food.

3. Male and female hormone production is shut down and/or altered by continually eating microwaved foods.

4. The effects of microwaved food by-products are residual [long term, permanent] within the human body.

5. Minerals, vitamins, and nutrients of all microwaved food is reduced or altered so that the human body gets little or no benefit, or the human body absorbs altered compounds that cannot be broken down.

6. The minerals in vegetables are altered into cancerous free radicals when cooked in microwave ovens.

7. Microwaved foods cause stomach and intestinal cancerous growths [tumors]. This may explain the rapidly increased rate of colon cancer in America.

8. The prolonged eating of microwaved foods causes cancerous cells to increase in human blood.

9. Continual ingestion of microwaved food causes immune system deficiencies through lymph gland and blood serum alterations.

10. Eating microwaved food causes loss of memory, concentration, emotional instability, and a decrease of intelligence.

Perhaps many of you won’t agree with this article, but it’s up to you. It’s your life and your health anyway so take charge of your own. I’m just sharing what I learned.

I was scheduled to get a new web host two or three weeks ago but the weather was not so cooperative. My internet connection went down for days and I got a bit sick (until now). I have new projects offline - websites for a hotel and an Auto Shop owned by a friend. Likewise, new blogs in different niches are in the making. In fact, I have changed some business strategies (online and offline) which I will discuss in my future articles. I hope those articles will benefit the readers of this small blog that I own, author and monetize.

This web hosting plan is going to be my fifth in 3 years. In those years of buying web hosting plans, I have realized one thing - study the company’s hosting rating. I could say that in my first two purchases, I failed. I will not mention the names of those companies’ names here but I could only wish I never purchased my web hosting plans from them.

If I may suggest, if you intend to get a web host, get some tips like tips for choosing a domain from those who are more experienced than you in this field - like me for example. lol! Don’t rush buying your web space. Gauge the company’s reputation by reading articles about user experiences. For more info on this, you may go to www.webhostingrating.com or search other resources in this site. I hope this helps.
