Lecture on Narrative and Discriptive writing:)by-Tanbir

This item was filled under [ Focus on English writing skills ]

When you are asked to write a short story, or asked to do some “Creative writing”, you are doing what is called “Narrative Writing”. Narrative writing is meant to entertain!. Narrative writing tells a personal or frictional experience or tells a story based on a real or imagined event. In narrative writing events organized in chronological sequence, may include some dialogue. Narratives make a point and that point is usually defined in the first sentence but may appear as the last sentence in the first paragrah. On the other hand discriptive writing sometimes called “showing writing” is writing that describes a particular person, place, or event in great detail. Discriptive writing uses a lot of adjectives and adverbs to describe what is going on or how something appers.
